Resting in God's Promises

Resting in God's Promises

Scripture:
"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." – Matthew 11:28 (NIV)

Devotional Thought:
Life can often feel overwhelming. The pressures of work, family, finances, and personal struggles can leave us feeling exhausted, both physically and spiritually. Yet, in the middle of our busyness, Jesus offers an invitation: "Come to me... and I will give you rest."

This promise reminds us that true rest is not found in temporary escapes or distractions, but in the presence of God. When we bring our burdens to Him, we are met with His peace, comfort, and rest for our souls. He doesn’t ask us to carry the weight of our troubles alone. Instead, He invites us to lay them at His feet and find rest in His strength.

Today, take a moment to release your worries to Jesus. Trust that He is faithful to His promises and that He will give you the rest you need.

Prayer:
Lord, I come to You today, weary and burdened. Thank You for Your promise of rest. Help me to trust You with the things that weigh on my heart and mind. Give me peace and refresh my soul as I rest in Your presence. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Action Step:
Set aside time today to rest in God’s presence. Turn off distractions and spend a few quiet moments in prayer, releasing your burdens to Him. Trust that He will refresh and restore your spirit.
